A Favourite Toy…

I am sure I am not alone when I say that we have a house filled with toys, having two girls has meant a lot of lovely toys have been brought for them over the years. But there is always one that remains a favourite…

Ever since Alice was old enough all she has wanted to play is making people cups of tea, she spends hours playing with her tea set.

It started with her just having a teapot and cup when she was little and this was enough for her little imagination and everyone that came over to our house would be offered a ‘cup of tea’ and then another and another…it was a fun game that lasted so long that I was actually able to drink my own hot drink, always a bonus!

As Alice got older I noticed that she would start to look for things that could be the milk and sugar and I thought it was time she had a proper full tea set.

I was delighted when I found this gorgeous wooden set that included a teapot, sugar pot with spoon, milk jug, two cups and saucers and cute little tea bags too. They all sat perfectly on the wooden tray that came with it too.

Alice just loves it and regularly has tea parties with her teddies.

When Holly was a baby I often wondered what her favourite toy would be and now at twenty one months old it’s a tough decision between playing with her babies and having a tea party. But she loves the tea set just as much as her big sister. I love watching them enjoy something together.

I thought that maybe she loved it because she wanted to join in with Alice, but she will play with it for ages when Alice is at preschool, so it’s definitely a favourite of hers too.

There is so much choice for parents when buying toys and even when you know what you would you want to buy your child, its then finding one that is good quality and going to last them. We are a generation that like to buy from recommendations and reviews that people give, as they are incredibly valuable and useful when making your final decisions.

One place I always look is Rainbow Toy Awards because all the toys are tested by children and parents and their opinions are taken into consideration. It’s always great to have a recommendation.

Does your child have a favourite toy?

Disclosure: This is my entry to become a Rainbow Toy Awards Toy Tester for 2016…Fingers crossed they pick us!

Awww how lovely Mobkey loves his tea set too, although it’s not as nice as your wooden one. I do love wooden toys. It’s lovely that they play together so nicely xx

I have never heard of rainbow toy awards but I like that it is a great place to find child and parent trusted toys. Alice has a great teddy collection.

My two have always loved playing with the kitchen toys, making lunches and cups of hot chocolate, Ez even spent his pocket money on some gorgeous wooden ice lollies last week. These toys are brilliant for imaginative play.

That teaset is so cute! I have to say I really love little kids’ teasets, especially china but the wood is so beautiful too and much nicer than plastic, I would have definitely bought this if I had seen it when my girls were small. Your girls look like they so enjoy playing with it 🙂
