This week has flown by and for once I am thankful for that. It has been a difficult week to get through with my nan’s funeral taking place. But, even during this period of sad moments and dealing with my grief, I can still recall some happy moments. This is why I love writing this list of happy moments, without it I would brush this week aside as just rubbish, and yes it was rubbish most of the time. But there was also some really lovely moments.
Lets talk happy moments…
Alice had her first stay and play at her school, she gave me a hug and ran inside so happy and when I picked her up, she had the same big smile. It really makes me happy to know she loved it.
Spending some time with niece on Tuesday when her teachers were on strike. The sun came out and we managed a trip to the park. The three girls just adore each other and its beautiful to watch.
Having dinner with two friends. It was so lovely to eat lots of yummy chinese food and chat to them, without little people distracting us. It was just what I needed this week.
At my nan’s funeral I wrote a piece about my nan about the memories I have of her, it was so hard getting the words out. But I was so proud to do it for her and I know it would have made her happy and that brings me comfort.
Organising the girls birthday party, I have felt like I have left it to the last minute. But, I finally feel like it might be coming together.
Today I am taking my niece for her swimming lesson and I am looking forward to spending time with her. The rest of the weekend will be spent sorting and cleaning the house, I haven’t been able to get straight since coming back from holiday. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
