Alice has been on half term all week and it has been really lovely to have her home with us. No school run, no rushing around and no clock watching. Alice was really tired at the end of school and has continued to be tired all week. I’ve tried to make sure we had a low key half term, having fun, but not going too crazy. Keeping to bedtimes and trying to give her a chance to relax ready for the start of school next week.
Let’s talk happy moments…
Last weekend Andy and I had some time together. We went for lunch at The Snug restaurant in Aylesbury and it was lovely to have some time just the two of us. It had been a crazy busy week and it was just what I needed.
We went pumpkin picking with my mum this week, along with everyone else in the country! They were doing it at one of our favourite places to go, Millets Farm and the girls had lots of fun. Holly just wanted to sit in the wheelbarrow and Alice was in charge of picking the perfect pumpkin. It will definitely be an annual event for us!
We have a great open play gymnastics and when Alice knew she wasn’t going to be at school this week, she asked if we could go. It’s only on weekdays and she has really missed going. So, of course we headed there this week and she loved it. Holly was like a little tornado and I need eyes in the back of my head with her.
I love to take the girls on walks and to get out in the fresh air as much as possible. We had a lovely walk in the woods with my parents and the girls enjoy it too. There is never any moaning, they just love to explore as much as I do. We then headed to the cafe for a hot chocolate and cake to warm up.
It has been lovely to have Alice home and its given us time to do things that she loves and we don’t always get time to do. During Holly’s naps we’ve been baking, crafting and having snuggles on the sofa.
It’s been a brilliant week, we haven’t done too much, but we’ve had the best fun. This weekend is all about having fun with daddy too.
