Living Arrows 35/52

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

by Kahlil Gibran

The night before Holly’s birthday we went into the garden for me to take some pictures of my little girl turning two. I knew the next day would be busy and I wanted to make sure I captured some nice ones. Taking photos of Holly is a bit of a mission at the moment, she won’t stand still for long and then says ‘cheese’ at me, giving the worst grin.

This photo is of my gorgeous smiley girl, led down on the trampoline. Alice was bouncing around her and Holly was laughing her little head off. Such a great sight and hearing your children laugh is the best.

On Friday we were invited along to Carfest. It was our first time at a festival as a family and we had a great time. When Alice first saw the helter skelter she said it was too big for her to go on and we walked on by.

Later on, she suddenly starting yelling in delight that she wants to have a go. With her mat under her arm, off she went to the top of the slide. The man helped her sit on the mat and away she went. At the bottom she comes running over to me ‘I did it mummy’, so proud of herself.

Happy Birthday Holly, she looks like she’s loving it on the trampoline. I now think I need to find a helter skelter for my 5 year old. He would love it so much (after probably saying he didn’t want to try it!)

Oh, gorgeous photos Laura! I feel your pain on the difficulty of taking photos of a child who won’t keep still, but that’s a lovely one! Completely agree – there’s nothing that compares to the sound of your child laughing! Happy Birthday Holly! And I love a helter skelter too – looks like Alice had a great time! #livingarrows

That is such an awesome motion shot of Alice. I don’t think our two have been on a helter skelter yet – such fond memories of them from my own childhood! x
