The Mummy Tag

I’ve been tagged by Ayse from Arepops – Thank you!

  1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum or a Working Mum?

I am a stay at home mummy to my two girls, Alice, 3 and Holly, 1.

2. Would you have it any other way?

Not at the moment. I went back to work for three days in between having my girls, but right now the best thing for our family is for me to be at home looking after the girls. I can definitely see this changing as they get older, but now sure how exactly.

3. Do you co-sleep?

No. No big reason as to why, both my girls settled in their moses basket when they were newborns. Sometimes when Holly was small, I would struggle to stay awake during the night feeds and we may co-sleep safely. But at the moment Holly is in her room in a cot and Alice is in her room in a bed.

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?

When Holly was a baby my friend brought me a baby play nest and it was brilliant. With Holly being my second child, there were so many times I needed to do something for Alice and I could safely pop Holly in her play nest and she was not only happy, but she couldn’t escape.

5. How many kids do you plan on having?

Our family is complete with our two girls.

6. Date nights? How often do you have them?

Not very often, we only have my parents who can babysit for us and we use our babysitting credits wisely. Sometimes we just have big jobs around the house that need doing and would get done easier if the girls weren’t here. So, sometimes they will have the girls on a Sunday for us to get jobs done. Therefore not leaving much chance of a date night!

7. Your child’s favourite show?

At the moment Holly loves Topsy and Tim and Alice loves Paw Patrol.

8. Name one thing you bought before you had the baby and never ended up using?

A baby safe beach tent. We were going on holiday to Wales when Alice was ten months old and I was paranoid about her being out in the sun. The reality was it didn’t get that hot and a ten month old does get a bit bored on the beach and we didn’t stay long.

9. Your child’s favourite food?

Alice’s favourite food is pie, mash potato and carrots.

Holly’s favourite food is toast with jam.

10. How many cars does your family have?

11. Weight gain, before pregnancy, during, after and now?

I obviously put weight on with both my pregnancies. I found it easier loosing the weight the second time, probably because I was running around after a toddler, breastfeeding and not having time to actually eat!!

12. Dream holiday with your kids?

Australia. We went there on our honeymoon and totally loved it. I would love to take the girls back when they are at an age they will appreciate it.

13. Dream holiday without your kids?

New York!

14. How has your life changed since having kids?

Everything in my life has changed since having my girls. I don’t think there is any part of my pre-child life left, except that I am still married to Andy, my family and my friends. But, that is just the way I like it.

15. Finish the sentence “It makes my heart melt when…”

I see my daughters give each other a cuddle and a kiss.

16. Where do you shop for your kids?

Where don’t I shop for my girls. I love to buy them clothes…Next, Boden, Jo Jo, Mothercare, M&S, Bluezoo…I could go on!

17. Favourite make-up and skincare products?

MAC all the way for me!

18. Huggies or Pampers?

Pampers, never had a leak overnight with either of my girls.

19. Have you always wanted kids?

Yes, it took me a while to find my prince charming, but when I did we both wanted to start a family straight away. I fell truly blessed to have my girls.

20. Best part of being a mum?

When no one else will do but ‘mummy’. I love that I can give them the love, support, security that they need at any moment.

I hope I haven’t bored you too much. I am tagging these lovely mummies…

Such a lovely read! We’ve got one of those uv beach tent things too, never used it! Maybe this summer it will actually make it out of the cupboard under the stairs. x #TheList

I wish I’d read this a week ago! Just got back from holiday with an unused sun tent! Now I’m telling myself I’ll use it in the garden 😛
