We can safely say that Autumn is here. I am a summer girl at heart, but with the warmer start to Autumn I’ve been embracing it a lot more. I love taking the girls out as much as possible and at this time of year you definitely have to make the most of the nicer weather.
We have so many beautiful places that we like to go on walks. I think it’s important for the girls to experience the beauty of world we live in. To walk through the woods and see what we can discover. To talk to them about the changing colour of the leaves, the feel of the trees and to search for conkers.
The girls were recently sent some lovely coats from Lighthouse Clothing. I hadn’t come across them before and when I was browsing their site I really liked the designs that they offered. The waterproof raincoats are perfect for this time of year and I knew my girls would love them.
Alice helped me choose her coat, as she definitely knows what she does and doesn’t like. However she is also very predictable and went for the Ella Waterproof coat with a lovely bird print. RRP £29.95
The coat is waterproof, breathable and windproof. Everything you look for in a rain coat. It has a lovely soft fleece lining, which is a feature that Alice looks for. She has a thing about clothes being soft! And of course that important fleece lined hood.
For Holly we went for the Carrie Waterproof coat in the navy polka dot design. RRP £24.95, currently reduced to £19.95. I love this design and it suits my Holly perfectly. Holly’s is also waterproof, breathable and windproof, along with a soft jersey lined hood. Both coats are machine washable.
An autumn walk in the woods was the perfect place to test road the coats. It was a mild day, but Alice still insisted on wearing her hat, scarf and gloves. I was going to say no, but because it won’t be long until I want her to wear them I just went with it. And lets be honest we have to pick our battles in life.
I like that the coats have an elastic cuff to them to keep the rain and wind out, but left no marks on their wrists so they weren’t tight.
After our walk we headed to a nearby garden centre for cake and hot chocolate. They have a play area outside which the girls went on afterwards.
I can spot Alice anywhere in her bright pink coat, always handy when we are in the park. I can glance around and very quickly find her.
Alice said it was warm and comfortable to wear and the fact that Holly didn’t once ask to take it off, means it was a hit with her.
Overall I am really impressed with their coats and they will see us nicely through Autumn and no doubt will be back out again as we leave winter behind next year.
