Review: Micro Scooters…

Every time we leave the house we see children and sometimes adults getting around on scooters, they are a really great way to travel and are becoming more popular.

Alice had a small plastic scooter when she was little, but she has since outgrown it and it hasn’t survived to be handed down to Holly. So, when Micro Scooters got in touch to ask if the girls would like to test out their scooters, I quickly said yes knowing that their scooters were in a different league.

The girls were super excited when they arrived and saw what was in the box. We promised to build them when they were sleeping, ready to try out the next day. I had planned on taking some photos of Andy putting them together, but they were so quick and easy to do that by the time I came downstairs from putting the girls to bed he had them ready to go.

Alice’s scooter is the Mini Micro Deluxe Scooter, which is suitable for ages 2-5 years old. The feature I love most is the adjustable handlebar, meaning you can adjust the height as your child grows. Alice’s scooter is purple, but it also comes in seven other colours.

Holly has the Micro Mini 2 Go Scooter, which is ideal for ages 18 months – 5 years, meaning we have a lot of use in this scooter as Holly will only be 2 next month. The Micro Mini 2 Go also has the adjustable handlebar, plus a handy storage draw, perfect for toys or essentials like drinks, snacks and nappies.

I know she is my daughter, but how cute does Holly look on her scooter with her helmet on, or hat as she calls it!

But, what is brilliant about this scooter is that it has 4 stages as your child grows. You can attach a robust and versatile seat to the scooter to turn it into a ride on. Holly has the pink one, it also comes in blue.

Both the girls have a handy bag to attach to the handlebars, I was pleased to see you attach these with poppers so they stay done up. These are perfect for popping in a drink or taking your teddy for a ride. They also always wear their helmets that match their bags. There is a wide range of accessories for your scooter.

We took them to a place that we knew would be perfect for scooters and where there is hardly anyone around to let the girls really test them out.

I made a little video of them on their scooters to share with you, I hope you enjoy it…

As you can see in the video, Holly quickly wanted to be just like her sister and she kept wanting to have ago on Alice’s scooter. Luckily Andy had brought along the allen key and the seat part of Holly’s scooter came off in minutes.

Back home the girls have continued to want to be on their scooters and during the sunny evenings we have been having, they are having fun on their scooters before bedtime.

You can see that Alice loves to come down the alleyway on the side of our house and onto the patio, with the intuitive ‘lean and steer’, she can easily get round the corner.

On a trip to the park Alice went the whole way on her scooter, it is really lightweight and she can manage the kerbs easily. Holly was in the pushchair, but I was able to hang the scooter over the handles and she had a go when we were safely in the park grounds.

I think it’s easy to see from the video and the photos how much they love their new scooters. They are built to last and as a parent I feel at ease that the girls can safely use them. The brake feature means that even with Alice’s slight touch on it, it brings her to a gentle halt.

There are so many different types of scooters available at Micro Scooters, I am sure there is something for everyone. You can see their full range here.

The Mini Micro Deluxe Scooter RRP is £69.95 and the Mini 2 Go Scooter is RRP £99.95. Which I think is great value, as they will both last until they are 5 years old.

I can see us having many years of scooter fun…

Disclosure: We received both the scooters and accessories featured in return for an honest review. As always all views and opinions are my own.

What a great looking scooter, we’ve had trouble trying to find one for me (I’m 3) as they all seem too big. This looks really good for us! #TriedTested xx

My eldest has one of these and he loves it. it has had so much use and was well worth its money. Think I am going to have to be buying another when my youngest started taking interest in a scooter.

What an amazing scooter! I’ve never heard of this one before but it sure does look lovely. I like that the handlebars are adjustable and there’s a set to it as well. It’s amazing it has 4 stages.

N loves his micro scooter – he’s got the 2 wheel micro sprite (I think) but we have to visit the park for it because we have a massive drive but it’s all gravel. I really want to switch my scooter for a microscooter one, because being able to fold and carry them is so much better than my chunky stunt one.

Our LM is desperate to ride a scooter, much earlier than her brother did so I know I need to get her her own one. Difficult to know which ones to get though. These do look great but that are quite pricy compared to others on the market I think.. They may be better quality though! Great review, food for thought! Xx

My little boy has a Mini Micro 3 in 1. Pricey but worth every penny. Probably the best thing we (oops, Santa) have bought him. Great pictures. #triedtested

Oh these are amazing! My two both share a scooter at the moment, which can be a bit of a nightmare! Lia finds it quite difficult to get much speed up on it – or to get a look in when Libby wants it! I love the accessories you’ve got with yours too, we need to get Libby a cycle helmet as she’s just started riding her bike without stabilisers but she hasn’t quite got the hang of the brakes!

I wish I had heard of these before we got the boys scooters! I love the action shot, that is definitely my favourite photo! I love that they have a break as well, the ones my boys have don’t. x
