When I look back to when I first met Andy fourteen years ago and he used to sit next to me at work, all I really remember is that he liked to talk. He would talk from the minute I arrived, to the minute he left.
I am not a morning a person and if I had it my way communication wouldn’t really start until about 10am. Whereas Andy, just talks all day long, he doesn’t have quiet moments.
So many times we will be somewhere and we will have noticed something in our own minds, you know the things that aren’t really that sufficient to say out loud. Well, Andy will say it, I don’t mean inappropriate comments, they are just random thoughts.
I am happy with the silent moments in life, I have no need to fill them. Andy doesn’t have these, he likes to chat away. Even if he is listening to the radio in the car, he will comment about what they are chatting about or just talk back as if they were in the car with him.
Andy is the only man I know that puts his clothes away every night. I have never had to pick his clothes up or his towel from the bathroom floor. He cleans the house and likes things to be tidy.
These are all traits of the star sign Leo, now I don’t read star signs or follow them. But I do think that the traits of your star sign are part of the person you are. I am a Gemini and a very true Gemini and Andy is most definitely a typical Leo…
When I fell pregnant with Alice and found out her due date, I realised that unless she was late, she too would be a Leo. I always had a feeling that Alice would come early and I would have a little Leo. And I was right, she came ten days early and is most definitely a Leo.
She not only looks like her daddy, but she is her daddy through and through. When her personality started to show, I could see the Leo in her and this has shown more and more as she gets older. She also likes to be neat, putting things away, making sure everything is in order…I love it.
Plus she loves to talk, she started talking at a young age and really has never stopped. Everything is a running commentary throughout the day. It can be quite exhausting by the end of it. When you become a parent, you have to be a morning person, they don’t really want to wait until 10am!!!
When we were at the doctors this week, Alice did not stop talking, either asking questions or chatting through what the doctor was doing. Our doctor is lovely and she said “I wish you could sit in the corner of my room all day, giving me a running commentary, it would cheer my day up’.
My friend summed it up well the other day when we were at the swings and Alice was busy telling her everything and anything. “Its like she is saying out loud everything that pops in her head, she keeps nothing to herself”.
Luckily everyone finds it endearing about her and they don’t mind the constant chit chat.
Her teachers always come out with Alice when I pick her up and have a funny story to tell me about what Alice has told them that day. You see you have to keep up with her, she has an incredible memory and her thoughts will leap back to something that happened a year ago and she talks about it like is happened yesterday.
She certainly keeps me on my toes and life is never dull or quiet…
So, when my two Leo’s are together its non-stop talk. As I am sitting writing this, I am watching them together. Alice sat at the table and Andy in the kitchen and they bounce of each other. It’s so funny to watch. It’s been great through Alice’s ‘why’ stage, because Andy just answers every question and doesn’t bat an eyelid. Whereas I can find it a bit exhausting when you get to the fifth ‘why’!
Car journeys are full of the two of them chatting away about anything and everything and I can just sit there and listen.
I wonder what my little Holly will be like, she was born a day after the end of the Leo sign and therefore technically a Virgo, but they say when you are on the cusp of a sign you can have a mixture of traits.
I might end up with three chatterboxes…
