I’m back with another 7 seven books that I’ve recently read and loved. I’m reading more at the moment because we’re a home a lot more.
The Mothers by Sarah J Naughton
A twisty psychological suspense about five mothers who share a devastating secret. Five friends, each with their own life and their own problems. They come together when Bella’s husband suddenly goes missing and she is left questioning everything. Feeling like she can’t trust anyone, especially her friends. One of the mothers knows something and the trouble with secrets someone always tells. It’s gripping, tense and brilliant. It will keep you guessing until the last page.
Dear Edward by Ann Napolitano
I loved, loved, loved this book. Eddie, a 12 year old boy life changes when he is involved in a horrific plane crash. He finds himself caught between merely surviving and living his life. The author weaves past and present into a page turning mystery and loss. I felt every single emotion Eddie went through, and I cried at times. A compulsive read, that you won’t be disappointed you picked up.
4 Riverside Close by Diana Wilkinson
This book is a slow start, but its worth carrying on with it. I thought it was going to be about Jason’s murder, based on the blurb, and whilst the murder is at the start, it then takes you back to the events leading up to his death. It all starts when the neighbours all receive a leaflet about a website called ‘Join Me’ run by husband and wife Caroline and Jason. It’s a domestic thriller, with dysfunctional relationships and disturbing secrets. It makes you wonder how well do we really know our neighbours?
The Catch by T.M Logan
T.M Logan wrote the fabulous book called The Holiday and I couldn’t wait to read this book. The Catch is about a father who becomes convinced his daughter is about to marry a man with terrible secrets. Terrified that his cherished only child is about to marry a man who is not what he seems, Ed sets out to uncover the truth – before it’s too late. A book I couldn’t put down, a twist that I didn’t see coming and a book that did not disappoint me. It has a nail biting ending that could’ve gone either way for Ed and his family.
Little Friends by Jane Shemilt
A gripping and chilling read. When children become friends and the parents are forced to get to each other. But as they are start to get closer, they take their eye of their children. While they were looking the other way, evil creeps in and every parents nightmare happens. A story about the mix of couples martial troubles and a sinister side story. The twists and turns meant I couldn’t put it down and I had to know the ending.
How To Disappear by Gillian McAllister
Lauren’s daughter Zara witnessed a terrible crime. But speaking up comes with a price, and when Zara’s identity is revealed online, it puts a target on her back. The only choice is to disappear. To keep Zara safe, Lauren will give up everything and everyone she loves, even her husband. There will be no goodbyes. Their pasts will be rewritten. New names, new home, new lives. The rules are strict to keep them safe, but the modern world make it easy to make a mistake, one text message, an Instagram like and their old lives crash into their new life. An addictive book, that had my heart in my mouth the whole way through.
I Know Your Secret by Ruth Heald
Loved it! A story about two woman. One woman marriage is over, and she has to come to terms with it. Whilst also continuing her job as a marriage therapist. The second woman wants her therapist to think she knows her, that her marriage is coming apart, that she is desperate for a baby. She thinks she is listening to her advice, but the truth couldn’t be further from the truth. Her therapist has no idea who she really is and that she knows everything. A griping read, addictive about the lengths people will go to for revenge.
