Over the summer we visited Calshot Activities Centre and we discovered that next door was Calshot Castle, which is part of the English Heritage. We headed over to have a look around.
Calshot is a coastal village in Southampton and Calshot Castle is open from April – September.
The artillery fort was built by Henry VIIIto defend Southampton’s sea passage. We had a lovely time looking around.
The views were great from the castle and Alice loved spotting Isle of Wight.
There were lots of places to explore for the girls.
Inside you could see the bedrooms and eating quarters.
We climbed to the stop and there was a large canon, which the girls loved.
We could see the lifeboat house too.
It was really nice to have a look around and if you’re nearby its definitely worth a trip.
