What a busy week! We’re on summer holidays and every day we’ve been out seeing different people. Which has been lovely, but exhausting. Looking after two children full time, is a lot more tiring than working. The girls have been brilliant, and apart from a few squabbles when we get home and they are tired, they have been really good.
I’m loving the calmer and slower mornings and we’ve not been leaving the house before 10am. I know I am not going to want these holidays to end.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Lunch With Friends… Last Friday lunchtime the girls and I met our friends for lunch. There were 10 kids and they all played in the garden, while we sat and chatted. It was a lovely couple of hours and I will definitely be doing this again.
Party… On Sunday we went to a friends for a birthday party. It was a nice relaxing afternoon, the kids were entertained by the bouncy castle and it was nice to catch up with people. I love how when you put a group of children together, they just pair off or play in groups and the simplest of things entertain them.
Picnics, picnics, picnics… This week we’ve had a lot of picnics. Luckily the girls love a picnic and it definitely helps keep the cost down over the holidays. We’ve met up with lots of friends this week and its been great fun. We only had 1 wet day, where we headed to soft play and apart from that we’ve had lovely sunny days.
Struggling To Work… Its really hard to get my work done over the holidays. Obviously during the days I’m with the girls and I don’t do any work. When Andy gets home from work, I try and get an hours work done before bedtime and then once they are asleep I work every evening. It’s exhausting, I get really anxious about meeting deadlines, but I know that I’m lucky that I get to be with the girls while they are off. I just wish there were a few more hours in the day to get stuff done.
Love Island Is Over… On Monday it was the final of Love Island and I have to admit I was pleased to see it finish. I’ve not enjoyed it as much this year, its starting to feel very staged and I’m pleased to have my evenings back. I read that its going to be on twice next year, and I really don’t think I will be watching.
This weekend… I’m really excited because on Friday night I am going to an outdoor cinema with some friends and I’ve never been to one before. I also hardly ever get to go to the cinema and can’t wait to watch a film. We’re off to an event on Saturday morning and I’m not too sure what we’re going to do on Sunday, it depends on the weather.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
