Life is busy at the moment and I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all. There is a lot going on at both the girls schools and I’m sure I am going to forget something. Whilst I love the build up to Christmas, all the school bits I could happily live without. The girls are getting so excited and I’m counting down to the end of school, when we can close the door, eat all the food and watch Christmas films.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Putting the Christmas Tree Up… At the weekend we put our Christmas tree up and the girls were very excited. I love how cosy the house feels when the tree is up and the lights are on. I know that a couple of days after Christmas I will be itching to take it back down. But for now I love it! This year we have the kittens and they have been intrigued by it, but haven’t been too bad.
Birthday Celebrations… It was my Mum’s birthday this week and at the weekend we went our for lunch with my family. It was really lovely to catch up and the girls loved seeing their cousin. Once its been my Mum’s birthday, I feel like Christmas can begin.
Les Miserables The Staged Concert.. For my Mum’s birthday present I took her to the cinema where they were having a live performance of Les Miserables The Staged Concert, with Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Carrie Fletcher and Matt Lucas. I’ve never seen Les Miserables before and seeing The Staged Concert version was incredible. The singing from everyone was like nothing else I’ve seen. It was a wonderful night.
Parents Meeting… This week we had our first meeting with Alice’s teacher since she started at the juniors school. They include the child in the chat, which I think is a lovely idea and I believe it takes the child, the teacher and the parents to all support them through school. Her teacher said that Alice is a very happy girl, always smiling, always happy to everything, keen to learn and always tries her best. She loves people, friends with everyone and no one ever has anything bad to say about Alice. She also loves to write and writes pages and pages. My heart swelled, not only because she was saying all these lovely things about Alice. But, because she described Alice perfectly and its always comforting to know that your child’s teacher knows your child, just as well as you do.
This weekend… Tonight I am going out with some friends, which I’m looking forward to. Holly has a birthday party to go to and apart from that we have a fairly quiet weekend. I can’t wait!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
