My first snapshots post for this year. I look a few weeks off writing them over Christmas and it felt good to have a proper break. Its the only time when things become really quiet and I liked it. We had a lovely family Christmas and a nice relaxed time over the New Year. We were already to go back to school and work on Tuesday, the girls needed to get back to a routine.
Here is my little snapshot of the last couple of weeks…
Light Trail At New Year… I had been wanting to go and do the Waddesdon National Trust Light Trail they had on since December, but it was really popular and hard to get tickets at the weekends. I then checked for availability for New Years Eve, as was pleased to see they had tickets. It was nice to be able to do something on New Years Eve, the last couple of years we’ve stayed home. The girls were very excited as we arrived late afternoon and they thought it was amazing to be there in the dark. The light trail was lovely and we enjoyed a hot chocolate too.
Sorting The House… Over the last month we’ve been going room to room having a good sort out of each room. Being ruthless and getting rid of things that we no longer use and there really is no point in keeping them. I also had change around with our kitchen area, and shelf. It looks so much better and is no longer a place to dump things.
Ice Skating Trip.. For the last five years we’ve gone ice skating with my family during the Christmas holiday period. We didn’t know if it would happen this year because my brother and his family were away for Christmas. But we managed to squeeze it in just before we went back to school. The girls always have a great time and I love seeing their confidence on the ice grow every time.
Puzzles!… Andy and I thought it would be nice to do a puzzle together. A chance to put our phones down during the evenings and do something different. Our friends lent us a Krispy Kreme jigsaw and we really enjoyed doing it. I think it will be something that we will do every now and again, as it was really relaxing at the end of the day.
This weekend… Alice has a birthday party to go to. But otherwise we have no plans and I can’t wait. The girls are tired after their first week back and it will be a quiet one for us.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
