I’ve had a lovely week, and been able to catch up with lots of my friends, which has been just wonderful. The girls are now back in the swing of school and after school clubs. Holly has been a bit unsettled since we’ve been back. Her teacher left at Christmas and I think having a new teacher to the school as unsettled her. Of course all teachers do things slightly differently and she needs time to adjust. Her old teacher was a one off and was amazing. I know she will settle soon, but its not easy when they don’t want to go to school.
Here is my little snapshot of the last couple of weeks…
Sorting The House… I’ve mentioned before that we’ve been spending time over the last few months sorting the house room by room. It’s made such a difference to our home. It feels like everything has a place and its been a lot easy to keep tidy. At the weekend we tackled the under stairs cupboard. Its not very big and an awkward shape. When we moved it, we just made use of units that we previously had. But they never really worked and it was just a mess. When we took everything out, I couldn’t believe the amount we had in there! We measured up and were pleased that the kallak units from Ikea would fit perfectly. We already had some cube boxes that we didn’t use anymore that would fit in them, so it was a cheap option too. After a trip to Ikea we built the 4 cube unit, but when it came to putting it in because it was a perfect fit we couldn’t get it in!!!! We then built the 2 cube, which was going to go on top of the 4 cube. But we had to build it in the cupboard!! That was fun!! But it fitted and looked great. Andy went back to Ikea and swapped the 4 unit for another 2 cube unit. Which we again built in the cupboard. I’m so pleased with the results. We managed to fit everything in and have space.
New Shoes… I’ve still got some money left that I was given at Christmas and I’ve been looking for some comfortable stylish shoes ready for the nicer weather. I love these Low Lace Shoes from GANT and the fact they are navy blue, makes them even better. They will look lovely with jeans or skirts and I can’t wait for spring to arrive.
Roast Dinner and A Sunday Walk… On Sunday we went to parents for a roast dinner which was lovely. Afterwards we went for a walk around some lakes and the girls had a play in the park. The day had started off freezing cold, but by the afternoon it was a really pleasant day. I love this time of year and the slowness to life that it brings.
Shopping With A Friend.. This week I took a day of work and went shopping with my friend. It was my favourite kind of shopping as we were looking for things for the house. I love interior shopping and finding all the accessories for a room. I had brought a mirror for our hallway which I’m waiting to be delivered and I got a gorgeous stool to sit in front of it. The girls love the stool already and its handy for putting my boots on.
A Birthday Lunch… It was my friends birthday and we met up for lunch. She brought along her gorgeous boy, who recently turned one and was a delight. We had a delicious lunch and it was great to catch up. We met when we were pregnant with our eldest children and have known each other 8 years, which just seems to have flown by.
This weekend… Holly is starting football club and she is really excited about it. Alice and I are helping at the village market and on Sunday we’re seeing my cousin and her family.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
