One thing that we love doing as a family is playing games and we’re always looking for new ones to try. We were recently sent the LEX GO Harry Potter word game and the Disney LEX GO word game. With Alice being a massive Harry Potter fan and Holly loving anything todo with Disney, I knew they were going to love them.
LEX GO Harry Potter
Alice couldn’t wait to start playing the Harry Potter LEX GO game and with Andy also loving Harry Potter, they played it together. It is for 2-4 players, suitable for 8+ and each game lasts about 10 minutes.
To set up the game you need to shuffle all the letter tiles face down, this called the draw pile. Each player takes ten tiles from the draw pile and keeps them face down. The remaining draw pile is placed in the middle of the playing area.
To start the game one player, which was always Alice shouts ‘LEX-GO’ and everyone flips over their tiles. The first player to get rid of all their tiles by creating words wins the game. There is four ways to get rid of your tiles, you can make a word, or multiple separate words. You can add your tiles to another players words or to your own. You can replace a tile with one from your or another players existing words. Lastly, you can swap a tile for in the draw pile. You must shout ‘SWAP’ as you do this and you can only swap again after another player has swapped out a tile.
There is also some spell tiles and the Polyjuice tile. The Polyjuice tile is a good tile to get, because you can use it as any letter. Each spell tile can be used only once in a round and is discarded afterwards. You have to shout the name of the spell before you complete the action. There are four spell tiles, all with a different action. Just to add some more fun to the game.
When you have got rid of all your tiles, you need to shout ‘SNITCH’. Which will be familiar to all Harry Potter fans.

LEX GO Disney
The girls have both been enjoying playing the Disney version of the game. It follows the same rules, as the Harry Potter game and I will share with you the differences,
This game has magic tiles too and they are disney themed. It has Mickey, Genie, Wreck It Ralph, Olaf and Ariel tile.
I love that there is an education side to the game, as the girls have to find words to make with the tiles they have.
When you get rid of all your tiles, you shout out ‘DISNEY’!
