Review: Skipping To School In Treads School Shoes…Plus A Giveaway!

I was lucky with Alice, her school shoes seem to last her until her feet grow and she needs a new pair because they don’t fit her anymore. With Holly, its a different story and knowing what she is like, I shouldn’t have been surprised. She is a climber, she likes to play football, she gets into everything and of course her school shoes take a battering.

I was recently introduced to Treads and asked if the girls would like to review their school shoes. When I saw on their website that they have a 12 month indestructible guarantee on their shoes, I knew I had to give them a try.

We let the girls choose their shoes and the site was really easy to use and navigate. There was plenty of choice and deliver was free. It didn’t take long for our shoes to arrive.

Alice has learnt to tie her own shoe laces and has been desperately waiting to get a new pair of school shoes so she can have a lace up pair this time. I wasn’t surprised that she choose the Montana Brogue shoes, which are gorgeous.

On first appearance I was really impressed with Treads and the quality of the Permair leather – soft enough to allow flexible movement and yet strong enough to survive even the most active of playground activities.

Holly choose the Brisbane Mary Jane shoes which are beautiful.

The shoes seem really solid, yet comfortable to wear with a strong sole and tread.

The rip tape design is perfect for Holly, aged 5, allowing her to be able to do her own shoes at home and school. Giving her the independence that she wants.

What really impressed me was that both pairs came with full details about Treads and the key elements, including the removable EVA foot bed for that made to measure fit. I have never seen this in any shoes and it means that you can get the perfect fit for your child’s feet.

Treads are so confident in the material and workmanship of their shoes that, should there be any issue, they will offer a 12 month indestructible guarantee on every pair. I don’t think I’ve seen another brand make this guarantee on school shoes before.

The girls couldn’t wait to try on their new shoes. Letting them choose their own shoes, definitely makes them more excited to wear them.

Alice looks really smart in her brogue shoes and more grown up than normal, if that’s possible. They make her feel grown up too, being able to tie her own laces. I remember having similar shoes when I was a child.

Holly also loved her shoes, and said how comfortable they are. She was able to adjust them to fit her all by herself.

I’m really impressed with the quality of Treads shoes and I wouldn’t hesitate in buying their next pair from them. Priced at £45 a pair, I think its a good price to pay with the guarantee they will last 12 months, unless their feet grow!

I have two very happy and smart girls already for school.
