Bellz! is a quick to pick up magnetic game and it’s a fun game for all. It’s really easy to use and the winner is the first person to collect all 10 bells of their chosen colour.
Everything you need is inside the colourful pouch and you also use the pouch to play the game. Inside the pouch you will also find 40 bells in 4 colours, the bells are all different sizes. 20 small ones, 12 medium ones and 8 large ones. And finally there is the magnet wand.
The magnet wand has a larger end with a strong magnet and a smaller end with a week magnet. You can use either end, but you can’t switch ends during your turn. You need to decide which magnet you are going for and which end you think would be best to get it.
To set up the game you unzip the pouch and lay it flat with the blue side facing up to form the game arena. Remove the magnet wand and mix up all the bells in the arena.
Bellz! is for 2 to 4 players and you choose which player is going to go first. When it’s your turn you use the magnet wand to collect as many bells as you can of your colour, without picking up bells of any other colour. This sounds easier than it is!
You are free to choose any colour of bell you want, as long as another player has not already managed to collect any bells. The idea is that you each collect the bells of your colour, until you have collected them all.
As you collect the bells you can hang them together in a line on the wand, or clump them together. You can keep trying for more bells unless you pick up more than one colour bell or another players colour.
Or if you knock any bells outside of the arena. If you do any of these then your turn ends and you have to return any bells that you picked up incorrectly or knocked out on that turn.
If you are happy with the number of bells you have collected, you may remove the bells and place them in front of you. Play then passes to the next player.
The winner is the first person to collect all ten bells of their chosen colour.
Alice and I really enjoyed playing this game whilst Holly was napping. It was great to get Alice thinking about which bell she was going to try and get. Then working out which end of the magnet was best to use.
It took her a while to grasp that one end was stronger and that if she wasn’t careful she ended up with a group of bells all clumped to the end of magnet and she had to put them back. But gradually she got the skill needed to get the bells she wanted.
You can currently buy it from Amazon for £24.74, here.
The best part about this game is it’s travel pouch, making it ideal to take with us when we go camping and on holiday. I can see us having lots of fun with it for many years to come.
