I’m back with another A Day In The Life Of… It’s a chance for other bloggers to share what a typical day looks like for them. I’m proper nosey and I love to see what people get up to in their day. It’s also a great chance for you to find some more blogs that you might like to follow.
Today we have Burnished Chaos, Alana lives in the North East with her husband and their 2 children. I love reading Alana’s blog, she is always so positive and I come away feeling good about myself.
Here is what a typical day looks like for her…
This is what a typical day looks like in our household during the week (weekends we just go with the flow).
.30: I never actually set an alarm anymore I just get up when I wake up which is generally anytime between 5 and 6am. I’ll get a quick shower then head downstairs and do a 5 minute meditation while the house is nice and quiet. The mediation is a new addition since I was asked to review the Welzen Mindfulness Meditation app and no-one is more surprised than me with how well I have stuck to it. I find it really sets me up for the day.
.00: Double check any posts I have scheduled for that day before hitting publish and joining up with that day’s linkies. Then I’ll have breakfast and a the only hot cup of tea I’ll get all day while reading and commenting on other’s blog posts
.00: Get the kids up (although M has started getting up on his own around 6:30 this past week). Then it’s the morning rush of feeding the kids and the animals (2 dogs, 2 cats and hundreds of fish) cleaning the kitchen, running the hoover round, putting washing in, packing bags and wrestling the youngest into her clothes.
.45: Walk M up to school.
.10: Walk the dogs. if L is content to stay in her pushchair this will only take about 40 minutes but if she insists on getting out and walking it can take an hour and half!
.00:This will depend on the day of the week. On Monday’s L has just started going to nursery for 2.5 hours so I will get some writing in before picking her up at 11:30. Tuesday we usually go to the supermarket, Wednesday is market day, Thursday it’s Toddler Group and Friday will; either be a morning at home doing housework/playing or a trip to the library.
.00: This used to be when L would have her afternoon nap and I could get some writing done but she has dropped those now. Instead I try to fit in a little bit of writing or blog commenting around playing with L and reading to her.
.00: Take the dogs for a quick walk around the block.
20: Walk up to the school to collect M.
45: Give the kids a snack and talk to M about his day.
.00: Cook tea while the kids entertain each other. This usually involves lots of screaming and frayed nerves.
.00: Tea time. M will talk non-stop and take an hour minimum but he will at least eat it. L will scream she doesn’t like it without taking a bite. Sometimes I may coax the odd mouthful in but the majority of it will end up on the floor or in the highchair.
.45: Feed the animals and wash up.
00: Take L for a bath to remove the uneaten food from her hair.
.30: M has a bath while L has her milk, then its story time. If M is done he sometimes joins us.
.00: L goes to bed and M and I will have snuggle time. This our one on one time and we will either watch a program, read a book or play a game together snuggled up on the couch.
.00: Take M to bed and then do some blog commenting/writing
.00: Crochet and watch tv. This may be the plan but it rarely happens as I usually have a mountain of blog work to catch up on.
.30: Let the dogs out then go to bed. Again, this is the plan but never actually happens. I’m usually either still blogging or finish blogging late and am still wide awake so I’ll sit down to watch a program to unwind a bit. I try to never go to bed later than midnight though given how early I get up.
