In this strange world that we find ourselves in, its nice to try and do things that you would’ve done regardless of the current situation. We’re trying to keep life as normal as possible for the children and they’re definitely thriving on the extra family time. Every Easter we love to do Easter crafts and baking and this year wasn’t going to be any different. I’ve always been an organised person and I’ve never been more grateful for that, than right now. A few weeks ago when I was shopping I saw all the Easter crafts appear in the shops and I popped some in my trolley ready for the Easter holidays.
With the sunny weather arriving, thank goodness, we were able to paint our Easter eggs outside in the sunshine. The girls couldn’t wait, as I set up their table and stools to get started. I always find it fascinating watching how different my girls are when they do the same task. Taking a different approach. Alice is very much, get the job done and doesn’t really think about what she is going to do before she does it. Whereas Holly likes to take her time, she carefully thinks about the colours and pattern she is was going to do before starting.
They had two eggs each to paint and then there was some ribbon to use, which means we can hang the eggs up.
As long as my girls are together with us, doing normal every day things they are happy. If this time has shown us anything, its that the simple life is the best life.
The girls did a great job at painting their eggs and with the nice warm weather they dried quickly.
The girls had decided that we were going to use the hanging Easter egg decorations as part of our Easter hunt on the Easter weekend. Every year we have a little hunt in the garden and this year will be no different and thanks to Haribo we have the perfect hunting kit ready to go. Holly isn’t a big fan of chocolate, (is she even mine :-)) and Haribo is always a great choice for her.
This year Haribo have the Eggs Galore! party size bag which is perfect for hunting. With 30 mini bags inside, it means that Mummy and Daddy can join in the hunt too, as Haribo is for big kids too! Yummy!!
Haribo have a great selection of Easter themed sweets this year, with fun packaging too. The girls loved the chick and bunny!
They are available to buy from all supermarkets, but please only pick up a bag or two when you’re doing your essential shopping.
As parents I think we will all be trying to make Easter a fun time for our children. A chance to make some memories that we can cherish forever. In a time that is like no other we’ve experienced, we have to find the positives and look for the happy moments and for us that will always be that we have each other and we are safe.
What ideas do you have to make Easter a fun time for your children, whilst keeping within the government guidelines?
