After what has felt like a very long week, why is that four days weeks always feel longer! We’ve finally arrived at Easter weekend and I can’t wait to have some time with my family and of course eat all the Easter Eggs. Its not Easter unless you treat yourself to a delicious Easter Egg.
My girls cannot wait for our annual Easter Egg hunt. We always do one in the garden and set up a trail for them to follow In previous years along the way they find chicks that are hidden and if they collect all the chicks they get their big Easter egg. This year they are a little bit older and we’ve decided to add in clues to the trail.
We’ve been writing out the clues this week and getting it already for them. I can’t wait to see their excited faces when they see what we’ve done this year. I’m hoping that with the clues, it will take them a bit longer to do and keep them entertained for longer.
The girls like to wear their bunny ears and tails, whilst carrying around their Easter baskets to collect the chicks in. It’s the cutest thing, and I will miss the day when they tell me they are too old for an Easter egg hunt. I remember when I was a child doing one every year with my brother. Hopefully we’ve got a few more years to go.
The rest of the weekend we will be spending it doing Easter crafts and Easter baking. With the sunny weather forecast we can do our crafting out in the garden, which will definitely help me stay calm about the mess!
Easter is one of my favourite times of the year and whilst it will feel a bit different this year and some of the things that we like to do with out extended family, we can’t. We will definitely be making the most of the this family time together. Especially with Andy home with us for four days.
