Alice has always loved to do crafting and when it was just the two of us at home we used to do it fairly regularly. When Holly came along it became tricker and to be honest I’m not very good at letting them do it. It often feels like a lot of effort and then they get bored five minutes later.
Well I should give Alice more credit as she is reaching her fifth birthday her attention span is a lot better than when she was two years old. Plus there are so many different crafts that you can do that are not too messy.
We were recently sent the Mosaic My Pretty Journal and it was perfect for Alice. Not only did I know that she would love to decorate it, but she is also really into writing at the moment and this is great for her to make all her little notes in.
It comes with the journal which is covered with lots of coloured squares, over 500 little mosaic tiles and a strip of jewels to decorate however you choose.
Each of the squares are colour coded so you know which colour mosaic tile you need to stick on it.
I loved how Alice laid out all the mosaic tiles next to her before she got started. What I really liked about it was that the mosaic tiles came off really easily, meaning that Alice could do it all on her own. Which is a win for me and gave her the independence to do it on her own.
It wasn’t long until Alice had managed to decorate the front cover and she was pretty happy with her achievement.
Alice then decided it was a good idea to write her name in the front, to make sure that everyone knew it was hers!
Alice loved the jewels, apparently they were all her favourite colours and she started to stick them inside the journal.
It was then time to start writing her notes in it. She has already told me she is going to write in it every day. Alice is also more eagle eyed than me as I didn’t notice that you decorate the back of the journal too!
Which means that she has even more fun to come doing this another day and let me tell you Alice was pretty excited about this.
Craft Time Mosaics My Pretty Journal RRP is £9.99 and is available from Amazon.
