I am not going to mention how fast the weeks are going, (but they really are!). Since my last post so much has happened for us as a family. We’ve sold and brought a new house, which was all a bit of a whirlwind. But, we are really excited about it all.
We had half term, which was just brilliant. To have both my girls home for the week was amazing, they just loved the time together. We didn’t plan lots of things to do, as Alice was really tired from school and needed to have some time to relax. We of course did the pumpkin picking and had fun on Halloween.
But that seems like a long time ago now and we are now racing towards Christmas. With Alice at school now we are settling into our new life. Holly and I are enjoying having the mornings together, before we go home for lunch and she has her nap. It’s a bit of a rush to get her up from her nap and out the door to pick Alice up. Hopefully once we move this won’t be such a rush.
Alice continues to surprise us everyday with what she is learning at school and since half term, this has increased even more. We have her first parents evening in a couple of weeks and I can’t wait to find out how she is doing. I am still getting used to the fact that I really have no clue what she does every day, just the snippets she gives me.
And my girls together well their love for each other just grows and grows. As Holly gets older and more talkative they have little chats together which is lovely to hear. I love watching them play together and Holly understands so much more now that she doesn’t ruin the game anymore (according to Alice!).
Holly misses Alice when she is at school, but she no longer tells everyone we meet that Alice is at school so I think she is getting used to it. Its lovely to see them reunited together after school and listening to them chat to each other in the back of the car on the way home.
Our photos this month were taken on a walk through the woods. I love this time of year and a nice Autumn walk, then we head to a nearby garden centre for a hot chocolate and a cake. Surely that is what Autumn is all about…
They are growing up far too quickly, but I am loving my front row seat of watching them together…
