I normally find that January can drag a little bit, but this week flew by. It was Alice’s first full week back at school and she wasn’t too tired, which was a bonus.
Let’s talk happy moments…
Number One
Last Sunday we went for a walk in the woods near us with our friends and their daughters. It was lovely to see the girls all together and it was nice to get some fresh air. We are so lucky to have it on our doorstep and we will definitely be making the most of it.
Number Two
On Monday Holly and I met my parents at a coffee shop. Holly normally gets bored quite quickly, but she sat for while and did some colouring and ate her biscuit. It was lovely to actually be able to have a conversation and not be chasing her around. I really hope this is a turning point.
Number Three
Holly went to pre-school for the second time and she skipped in excitedly. I was a bit worried that last week might have been a fluke and she may have had a wobble this week. But, she loved it and it was so sweet when I picked her up and she was dressed as a fairy.
Number Four
Alice had a nasty fall at school this week and her cheek was badly swollen and grazed. Of course this is no where near a happy moment, in fact I cried a little when I put her to bed that night. But there were two things that made me happy and proud. When she told me that a little girl knocked her over, she was very quick to make sure everyone knew it was an accident. She didn’t want anyone to get into trouble, bless her. The second thing is that it must have really hurt, but the teacher that looked after said, that she was so brave and didn’t cry. This made me a proud mummy.
Number Five
We’ve been in our new home just over a month now and I can honestly say I’ve never felt so happy and content in a home. I just love spending time here and I often wander from room to room, not quite believing it is mine. We are getting to the stage of accessorising, which is my favourite part. I love browsing sites, finding lots of beautiful things to fill our home.
We’ve a busy weekend with swimming lessons and parties. I hope you have a lovely weekend…
