“My legs are tired, I can’t walk anymore” are the words we hear so often and then Andy and I look at each other with a big sigh knowing that we are only half way back to the car or it’s only 11am and we have the whole day ahead of us.
Holly is at that stage where sometimes she is happy in her pushchair and other times she wants to be out walking. But we always get to the point where she gets tired and can’t walk anymore, so hops into the pushchair.
We love to go on family walks and Alice has always been a good walker, but there are times when she gets tired and actually since being at school she is even more tired. She is getting too big and tall to go on Andy’s shoulders, which was always our fall back option, so what now?
Introducing the YippieYo…
When we were sent the YippieYo back in the summer, I wasn’t to sure what to expect. The girls were intrigued by it and we set about putting it together, which was actually really simple and you just have to pop the wheels on. They couldn’t wait to try it out and we set off for a walk.
They loved being in there together, like two little old woman chatting away. It’s been a long time since I had the double pushchair and Holly won’t have any memory of that time and I doubt Alice really remembers it.
You can also purchase a handy bag that you can clip onto the back of the YippieYo. It’s great to be able to pop all your things in. You can also unclip it and take it off the YippieYo, meaning you could just use this bag on a day out.
Making YippieYo Part Of Our Life…
As a family we love to go out and about and are members of the National Trust. Having the YippieYo has been amazing for these trips. As much as my girls love to walk, we can sometimes walk a little too far for their little legs and now they can hop in and out when they need to.
Both Andy and I find it really easy to pull, even with both girls in there. Knowing they are both strapped in and can’t fall out is reassuring.
As with all children, they get tired and like to have a rest. Alice liked to make herself comfy in the YippieYo while Holly was off playing. I thought at one point she had actually fallen asleep in it.
I love to take photos and every month we take family photos as part of the Me and Mine Project and I no longer have to carry my tripod, as it fits nicely on the back of the YippieYo. Which is really handy, more for Andy than me as he is the one that normally carries it!
It has a bungee strap to secure anything that you put on the back in place.
Over the summer we started potty training Holly and that meant taking our My Carry Potty everywhere with us. On a trip to Millets Farm to go strawberry picking, we knew that the tents with the strawberries in were quite a walk from the main area and we took the YippieYo. Not only did this mean the girls could travel in style, but we could pop the My Carry Potty on the back.
One of the things that I really love to see when the girls are sat in there together, is the fun that they have together. Making each other laugh, having little chats, it’s just really lovely to see. Normally when we have a pushchair its just Holly sat in there and Alice tries to walk along with her, but it’s just not the same.
We’ve loved using the YippieYo over the last few months and it is now something that we regularly use. It’s part of day out for us now and the girls ask if we are taking it with us.
