When it comes to styling our home, we all know that there are practical items that homes need and it can sometimes mean that they don’t go with your intentions for a room. That your style is compromised. In the past I have become frustrated when I’ve had to work around an awkwardly placed radiator, or door.
I spend a lot of time deciding the style, colours, items of furniture and accessories for a room. I love browsing sites and putting together a room that I know I will love and will work well in our home. It is one of my favourite pastimes, which Andy loves!!!!
When it comes to radiators they can cause you problems, or you can make them work with you. In our last home I fell in love with the column radiator that we had in our family room. Rather than it being an eye sore, it became a feature of the room and I had so many people comment on it. What I love about a column radiator, is that horizontally they don’t take up as much room, and instead use what can otherwise be dead space and are vertical.
In our room, they were well suited to it, as we had a square arch going into the family room, from the dining area and it fitted perfectly on the arch wall. Which then meant we could put our furniture against any of the other three walls, and we didn’t have to work around a normal radiator taking up one of the three walls.
Since we moved into our new home, I can already spot the perfect place for a column radiator in our bedroom and can’t wait for the opportunity to change out the big bulky radiator we have the moment. For a nice stylish and more practical one.
Do you think about radiators when you’re styling a room?
