Liked and Loved June 2017

This year I am joining in with Stevie’s Liked and Loved linky. It’s a chance for me to look back at the month and share with you what I’ve liked and loved.

June has been lovely month and it really has whizzed by and I can’t believe I’m writing this post already.

Here is what I liked and loved in June…

Half Term

With Alice now at school I live for the school holidays, to have both my girls home with me all day. To have no routine and do our own thing is when I’m at my best. We had a fairly relaxed half term, with visits to my parents, a trip to a National Trust and it ended with a trip to the cinema. It really was the best week and the girls loved being with each other everyday. I’m now on countdown to the summer holidays.

Blogging Friends

One of the best things that blogging has given me, is the friends that I’ve met. I’m really lucky to have the lovely Donna not too far away and we’ve been meeting up regularly for nearly a year now. We’ve found a Costa about half way between us and we meet for coffee, cake and a good old chat. It can be lonely in the blogging world, siting at home on your own and so this is really lovely that we can do this. We now make sure we book the next one straight in and it’s something that I look forward to each time.

Family Day Out

We’re lucky to have my brother and his family nearby and we had a lovely day out with them at Manydown Farm. The girls all played really well together and the weather was kind to us. My girls love their cousin and it’s really nice to see the three of them together. They are more like siblings, than cousins really.

Take That

I’ve loved Take That since the very beginning and first went to see them when I was younger and my dad took my friend and I. I don’t think I’ve missed a tour yet. This time they were playing around when my birthday is and Andy booked tickets for us to go. It was lovely for us to be able to spend time together and you forget how brilliant it is listening to live music. There is really some uplifting about it. Spending a few hours dancing and singing is definitely good for the soul.

My Birthday

It was my birthday this month and it fell the day after Father’s Day. So, this year we had a family out with my brother and his family and my parents too. It was really lovely and very hot! Birthday’s are never quite the same as you get older and I think that Alice was more excited than me. My wonderful cousin made me the best cake and I’m still making my way through all the sweets.

Andy has been wanting to take the girls camping forever and we finally had our first camping trip last weekend. We were meant to go last year, but Alice got chicken pox and we couldn’t go. We have had all an equipment waiting to be used and Alice desperate to finally get to go. We went with a group of friends and we had the best time. The girls loved it and the weather was just right for camping. I think this will now become part of our lives.

July see’s the countdown to the summer holidays and I can’t wait to have both my girls home for six weeks…

We’ve had the pox too here! We’ve also been meaning to go camping since… well, forever, but we never seem to manage it! Crevette left this morning for his first residential trip with school and he’s camping (in the rain!). xx

Having blogging friends close by is fantastic and I agree with you hearing live music really gets to you. Take That have sung some fantastic songs. Love the lyrics to Shine. #LikedandLoved

We used to go camping a few times a year when I was growing up and I loved it, but they’ve jacked up the costs of it here and it’s too expensive for me to take my own daughter 🙁
Hopefully one day I’ll be able to but sadly it won’t be every year let along several times a year like I got to enjoy as a kid.
Sounds like you had a great month and Happy Belated birthday!

Ahhh, Take That! I can remember having a concert on video when I was little and borrowing an album from the library. My dad put it onto a cassette for me and my mum hand-wrote all the words. It’s funny the things you remember.

I need you and Donna to move down here with me! Seriously do it 😉 I’m so looking forward to our little road trip in September! Sounds like a brilliant month, so jealous you went to see Take That, I love them and did back in the day too. I’ve weirdly never been to watch anyone live!

Thanks for joining in with #LikedandLoved lovely 🙂

Happy belated birthday, it sounds like a great month. We don’t have to deal with the half term situation just yet but my little one is due to start nursery in September and I’ve already jotted the term dates into my diary, you forget how short some of the breaks are! It’s so nice that you have made friends with other bloggers and have a regular coffee catch up, it’s nice that you can get together with someone that has the same interests and is into the whole blogging community #LikedandLoved
