March has been a lovely month for us a family, it has been the month where we finished off all the big jobs around our new home. There are still a few more things to hang on the walls and add those personal touches. We feel so at home here and it is definitely a home that I know we are going to make so many happy memories in.
We’ve had some sunny days and been able to get out into our new garden. Watching Alice whizz up and down the path on her scooter and Holly playing in the house, making me dinner. I love it. I can picture us out here in the summer having lots of fun. I love that I can just throw open the doors and the girls can be out there playing and I can potter around and still see them. It feels like the garden becomes an extension of our house.
Last Sunday was Mother’s Day and Alice had it all planned. She wanted to take me to our garden centre for coffee and cake, with a hot chocolate for her and daddy, and a glass of milk for Holly. I love that she loves these simple, but perfect times together. We invited my parents along too and we had such a lovely morning all together. The sun was shining and it really was a perfect Mother’s Day morning.
They have a play area outside and the girls were having fun playing. I had my camera with me and I was taking some photos of the girls with my parents, as we didn’t have any recent ones. I thought I would take advantage of having my mum with us to take some photos of the four of us too. It’s so much easier when there is someone to take the photos.
When I was looking back at these photos, what really stood out to me is how much older my girls are looking. I know no longer see a toddler in Holly, but a little girl staring back at me. With Alice looking every inch the school girl that she is. Time really doesn’t stand still.
This month’s set of photos has my all time favourite photo of Andy and Holly, I just love it. Neither of them knew I was taking the photo and it will definitely be one for a frame.
