When we moved into our new home we initially focused on getting the girls bedrooms decorated to make them feel at home and settled. Once they were finished, we moved onto our bedroom. I had seen the most gorgeous pink bedside tables and designed our whole bedroom around them.
We had a grey fabric bed, which complimented the bedside tables perfectly and so our bedroom had a grey and pink theme. Our bedroom is my favourite room in the house, I find it a really calming and relaxing place to be. Which I guess we all want this from our bedroom.
Little did I know that our grey fabric bed was to become ‘on trend’ in 2020. I was obviously way ahead of the game! Our bed, has storage underneath and you can lift the whole mattress up. This storage space has been amazing. We hide all the Christmas presents under there and our girls have no idea our bed even lifts up. Its also a great place for us to store the summer duvet during the winter.
Our bedside tables fit perfectly next to the bed and I really love how they look together.
When we were decorating our bedroom, and we realised we could fit in a dressing table. I was very excited. Previously I had always sat on the floor in front of the big mirror to do my hair and make up. To now have my own dressing table to sit at, is like a dream come true.
One of my favourite parts of doing a room, is adding all the accessories and little touches. This can really bring a room together and I spend hours browsing for the right thing. I adore these trunks that sit at the end of our bed. They are great for storage and look good too. I originally brought the star light to sit on them for Christmas, but loved how it looked so much I now keep it on there.
We don’t have a television in our bedroom, and haven’t done for five years now. We don’t miss it and I can’t see a time when we would add one. I definitely think, it makes for a more peaceful room by not having a television.
Whilst our bedroom is finished, I am always adding little bits to it. Last week I brought this gorgeous planter to sit next to the chair and its made such a difference to look of this space.
I don’t think a room is ever 100% finished.
