My Little Snapshots…

Last Friday the girls finished school for half term and Andy put his out of office on for a week. It’s been a week of family time and we started it with a few chilled out and quiet days, which we all needed. Before we came away to Devon for a few days. We’re here on a review trip, which I will be sharing with you when I’m back and its’ been booked since October last year. I’m so pleased that it finally arrived.

We arrived on Wednesday just in time for lunch and had our picnic with a view. The weather was a bit dull. But then we woke up on Thursday morning to gorgeous sunshine and we’ve been really lucky with the weather. I’m writing this sat in the dark in our hotel room, with two sleeping girls and Andy watching the iPad. The life of a freelancer doesn’t stop and during the school holidays I just work in the evenings. Which I’m incredibly lucky to be able to do and I wouldn’t change it.

Here is my little snapshot of this week…

A Trip To Costco… On Saturday we went to Costco for the first time and to be honest I’m not too sure what to make of it. I hear people rave about it and I’m not sure if I was missing something or was just distracted by the girls wanting to buy everything. But I came away feeling a little underwhelmed by it. I think I need to go back child free!

Time With Family… On Sunday we spent the day with my family at Cliveden National Trust and had a lovely time. Cliveden is one of my favourite National Trusts and we always have a lovely day out. We also managed to have a picnic and the weather just about held out for us.

Wall Climbing… The girls and I went to a new leisure centre not too far from us with our friends and the girls all did wall climbing. It was Holly’s first time and we was amazing. This girl has no fear! It was great watching them and they are already asking to go back. There was a soft play too and the girls were all well entertained. My friend and I managed to have two hot drinks and a good chat.

Time Together… As I mentioned, we’re currently in Devon for a few days and its been really lovely spending time as a family. Time where we are not distracted by all the jobs that need doing when we’re at home. We can just be in the moment with the girls and I think we all benefit from time away together.

Swimming… The hotel we’re staying at has an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and so far we’ve been in the indoor pool both days. If you ask Alice she will tell you every day her highlight has been swimming she just loves it. Both girls are like fish and they both are good little swimmers. Holly can be a bit scary, as she has no fear and a bit over confident with her swimming ability!

This weekend…  We will be making the most of our time here in Devon before heading home. Holly has a friends birthday party on Sunday afternoon and I know she will love seeing all her friends.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
