I have had a busy work week, trying to get as much done as I can before the girls finish for half term. They have an inset day today and then off for all of next week. Andy is off too, which is unusual for October half term. But because of lockdown, he has a lot of holiday left to take. We don’t have any plans, and I feel lucky that we live in a tier 1 area. Which means we can at least go out to places.
The girls are excited and we have Halloween too. It will still be a lovely week, with lazy mornings and time together.
Here is a little snapshot of my week…
Pumpkin Picking… At the weekend we went on our annual pumpkin picking trip. The girls were very excited about going and I was pleased we were still able to do it. We had to prebook our slot and they had put lots of measures in place to keep us safe. The best part is, once we were there it just felt like any other year we had been. It was nice to have a normal day out. The girls loved it.
Chilled Sundays… Our Sundays have started to have a routine of their own. We have a lazy start to the morning and then we go downstairs to make an apple crumble and start the roast dinner. Afterwards with full tummies, we go on a nice walk somewhere. They are my favourite days.
Coffee With A Friend… I met up with my friend for a coffee and a cake. I hadn’t seen her for a few weeks and it was lovely to catch up. I know that at any time we could move to a different tier, where we can’t meet with other people and I’m making the most of this time.
Watching…We finished watching Succession this week, it’s worth watching. I binge watched Emily in Paris this week and it was brilliant. I hope they make another series. I heard that Virgin River series 2 is out in November and I can’t wait to watch it.
House…We’ve been slowly changing our lounge and study area around. It takes a while, because everything is delayed because to Covid. I hit a stumbling point this week. I had brought a mirror for one of the walls, but I didn’t check the wall first. And it has 3 double electric sockets below where I want it to go. Which means we can’t drill into the wall to put it up. I now don’t know what to put on the wall!
This weekend… The girls and I are seeing my SIL and niece on Saturday. Sadly we can’t all meet up, as that would make us 7 people, so Andy and my brother aren’t coming. The girls are desperate to see their cousin, so that will be nice. On Sunday we’re going to my parents house for a roast dinner, which will be lovely and I don’t have to cook for once.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
