It’s been a week of two halves. The girls have been at the school at the beginning of the week and finished on Tuesday. It was an emotional day with Holly finishing her first year at school and Alice finishing her time at the infant school. I honestly can’t believe that she is heading to the junior school in September, those three years have flown by.
I spent those days trying to get as much work done as possible ahead of the crazy summer juggle that I am now in. We had a slow start to the holidays, the girls were very tired after a long term and I knew they need to relax first of all. We have the whole summer ahead of us for days out.
Here is my little snapshot of this week…
Dinner With Friends… Last Friday at the last minute I headed out for dinner with some friends. It was really lovely to see everyone and catch up. Its not always easy getting everyone together at the same time, but when it does happen its really nice.
Party, Party, Party… It’s both the girls birthdays over the summer and we did their parties early to make sure all their friends could come. Originally Alice’s was on a different day, but I had to suddenly move it and it ended up being on the same day as Holly’s. Yes, I’m crazy! We had Holly’s party in the morning, at a play barn which was lovely and easy. Then in the afternoon we had a pottery painting party at our house for Alice. I’m very lucky that my Mum and a couple of friends helped Andy and I out. Between us all, it went well and everyone seemed to have a nice time. I was exhausted by the end of it and relived to have them both done.
BBQ With Friends… On Sunday our friends invited us over for a bbq, and it was perfect timing. I was very grateful to have a nice relaxing afternoon and early evening with them after the party craziness. The girls biked round and we walked, and then we sat in the garden and our 4 girls all played together. We had a couple of injuries, Alice got stung by a wasp and was SO brave! She didn’t cry and it must have hurt a lot. Holly cut her toe and the blood just poured out of it. But she was a brave little girl too. Other than that the girls all played really nicely together and it was a really lovely relaxing afternoon.
End Of School… I went to the end of year school assembly and Alice got an Head Teachers award which was really lovely, as it will be her last one at the infant school. I couldn’t be prouder of how well she has done over this last year. Holly finished year R on a high and has settled into school life really well. I’m a proud mummy.
Start Of Summer… These last two days we’ve spent the first day at my parents house in their garden. They got their pool out and Alice played bowls with my dad. It was a nice relaxing start to the holidays. Then today (Thursday) we spent it in our garden. I put our pool up and it was so hot and sticky, that even I got in with the girls. They had a fun day, along with the usual moments of wanting food every 5 minutes and being bored. But on the whole its been a good start to the holidays, even if it was a slightly hot one.
This weekend… We’re off to a fun activity centre on Saturday and I will be sharing more with you all soon. Then on Sunday we’re off to a friends birthday party and the girls are very excited.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
