What a week it’s been! I’ve felt overwhelmed with life this week. It feels like life has speeded up again and I wasn’t ready for it. Both the girls schools are now back to how it should be, with sending home homework and of course this is good that we are getting back to some normality. It’s just been a bit of a shock to the system and trying to keep up with it all. I’m hoping when they are both at the juniors next year, it will be easier to manage.
I’ve also been making some big decisions about what is next for me, in terms of my work. Its feels scary and exciting at the moment. I will share more when I can.
Here is a little snapshot of my week…
Football… On Saturday morning Holly was back to football club, which was lovely for her. Andy takes her and its nice that they have something they can do together. Holly loved being back and we’re lucky that the children in her club are the same children in her school class. Which means she isn’t mixing with other children.
Ice Cream… The girls were really tired after their first week back at school and we had a quiet weekend. On Sunday we went to a local farm shop, that has a cafe and we had the best ice cream. It was a gorgeous sunny day and it was nice to sit out. The girls played in the play area they had and it was just what we needed. The simple days are the best days.
New Chair… During lockdown we had a move about of rooms. We moved the girls playroom to the family room and this created more space at the end of our lounge. I’m now having a place where I can work and relax in this area. I’ve been looking for a chair to go in the corner and I found this gorgeous grey chair, with black flecks in it. It was perfect for the decor that I’m having. My desk is arriving at the end of the month and I can’t wait to finally have an area to sit at.
Reading…I’m reading How To Disappear at the moment, and its really good. It’s a thriller and it has me gripped already. I just need to find more time in my day to read more. There doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day at the moment.
The Sunshine…I’ve been enjoying this extra sunny days we’ve been having this week. It felt like summer had packed up for the year, and then all of a sudden it was back. It was very hot at the start of the week and is more pleasant now we’re at the end of the week. I hope it continues for a little bit longer.
This weekend… Holly has football on Saturday morning and we’re seeing my parents in the afternoon. On Sunday, Alice and I are having some time together just the two of us. We haven’t done this for such a long time and I think she needs it. I will do the same with Holly in a couple of weeks.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
