It feels like we’re on the edge of going back into lockdown, and this week I took the time to meet up with friends and family who I haven’t seen since before lockdown back in March. With the government announcement on Monday, we’re lucky to live in an area that is in tier 1 and therefore nothing changed. We have the rule of 6 to follow, but we can meet people inside and outside.
It’s been lovely seeing people and I hope that I can see them again before Christmas.
Here is a little snapshot of my week…
Autumn Walks… At the weekend we went for a lovely autumn walk. I love it when the weather is crisp and bright at this time of year. Holly often likes to get a piggy back from Alice, when her legs get tired. Alice can’t carry her for long, but she is always happy to give her a carry when she can.
Coffee with a Friend… On Monday I met up with my friend, who I haven’t seen since before lockdown. We were meant to meet up, and the week lockdown happened. It was lovely to see her and her son, who had turned from a baby to a toddler during lockdown.
New Desk… When we moved into this house nearly four years ago, I wanted to have a desk to sit at and for different reasons it never happened. During lockdown we rearranged our downstairs and it meant there was space for me to have a desk. I’ve been patiently waiting for it to be delivered, as everything is taking longer due to covid. It finally arrived last Friday and I love it. I haven’t finished the area off yet, as I’m creating a gallery wall above it.
Watching…We started to watch Succession on Netflix. It’s not the best series we’ve watched, but it is worth watching. It has Kieran Culkin in it, and he is basically a grown up version of himself in Home Alone. I also finished Bloodline and that was brilliant.
Seeing my Cousin…I met up with cousin and we haven’t seen each other this year, which makes me sad. I feel like Covid has robbed us of time with the people we love. It was lovely to finally see her and have a good catch up. We’re hoping that we can meet up with our children next time, if the rule of 6 stays in place.
This weekend… We’re off pumpkin picking and I can’t wait. It’s an annual tradition and I’m really happy that we can still do it. The girls are very excited.
