Last week didn’t end that great, we got news from Alice’s school that she had to self isolate until today. It meant we had to cancel plans and we had to home school this week. Then with Saturdays announcement of a second lockdown, it was hard to hear. We weren’t able to see friends and family before lockdown, because Alice to self isolate. However reading the guidelines for this lockdown, is doesn’t seem as bad. We can still meet up with 1 person outside, and schools are staying open.
Here is a little snapshot of my week…
Halloween… At the weekend it was Halloween and we had a brilliant day. We made Halloween biscuits, I did a treasure hunt around the house, we had lots of Halloween food and we did Trick and Treating upstairs with Andy and I behind the doors 🙂 The girls loved it!
Quiet Time At Home… The weather was miserable and Alice couldn’t go out, which meant we had a cosy Sunday at home. We had a roast dinner, played games and enjoyed our last day of half term.
Home Schooling… I’ve had Alice home all week, but it was different this time. Her teacher was online for a lot of the day teaching the class and it really helped. It gave the day structure, they were being taught by a teacher and not me and Alice liked the interaction with her class. Alice has been brilliant throughout this period of self isolation, but she can’t wait to go outside tomorrow and back to school.
Reading…I finished reading Postscript, which is the sequel to PS, I Love You. I loved the first book and I was really hoping that the sequel didn’t disappoint. I finished reading it last night, and it’s brilliant. There were moments when I cried, moments when I shouting at her not to do something. It was really well written and it didn’t disappoint.
Watching…I’ve been watching Selling Sunset, it’s complete trash reality TV. But, to be honest that has been what I’ve needed recently. Something to wash over me and nothing that I’ve had to concentrate on.
This weekend… We’re now in lockdown, but our weekends won’t change that much. As we weren’t seeing people, because of the rules anyway. We will enjoy some nice walks and a roast dinner on Sunday.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
