It’s been a lovely week. Last Friday it was our 10 year wedding anniversary and whilst we couldn’t do our original plans, as they were cancelled many months ago. We couldn’t even do plan B, because we are now in lockdown. Instead we did plan C, Andy had the day off work and we went for a nice walk together. Enjoyed a coffee and a cake on our walk. We also had a chinese takeaway for dinner with the girls and watched the Downton Abbey film in the evening. We had a wonderful day, despite it not being what we had planned.
Here is a little snapshot of my week…
A Walk At Basildon Park… At the weekend we had booked to visit Basildon Park. I’m really grateful that National Trust places have been able to stay open. We got take away hot drinks and cake and it was a gorgeous autumn day. Getting out in the fresh air, makes a difference.
Roast Dinners… We love a roast dinner on a Sunday. The girls like to help me peel the vegetables and make the apple crumble. It’s become a big part of a Sunday this autumn. Plus the girls love a roast dinner and eat it all without any fuss.
Walks with Friends… I was really happy when I saw in the lockdown rules that you can still meet up with 1 friend outside, whilst social distancing. It has been lovely to meet up with my friend and go for a walk. We’ve been lucky this week and had a couple of gorgeous mornings to get outside. To be able to see people, and have a chat face to face really does make a difference to your mental health.
Christmas Shopping…I’ve been doing some Christmas shopping and getting organised. I would like to have it all done by the of November if I can. I’m struggling with Alice this year. She doesn’t play with toys anymore and that makes it harder. I have a few ideas, but need some more. It’s hard not being able to wander around the shops for inspiration.
Watching…I can’t wait for both the new season of The Crown to start this weekend and I’m a Celebrity. I’m really pleased I’m a Celebrity has been able to happen this year, it makes me think Christmas is on its way. It will be interesting to see how different it is this year and sometimes a change is a good thing.
This weekend… The weather forecast is looking very wet this weekend, which makes it harder. We’re hoping to go on a local walk, where we can get a hot chocolate and a cake. You will notice there is a theme to our walks, drinks and cake! They just make it a bit more enjoyable and more like a day out 🙂
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
